And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. - Anais Nin

Personal Colour Analysis is the process of identifying the colours that harmonize with colours already present in your skin, hair, eyes. We map out your natural colour characteristics by means of a specific testing method, using carefully calibrated drape sets to progressively measure the reactions of your skin and pigmentation.

Imagine shopping for clothes, makeup, or accessories, and knowing immediately which colours make you look fabulous. The aim of a colour analysis is to show you how to create balance and harmony between your colouring and the colours you wear.

Balance and harmony is achieved by wearing colours that have characteristics similar to your colouring in hue, value and chroma.

Personal Colour Analysis is the scientific process that determines the colours that are in perfect harmony with the colours already in your skin, eyes, and hair. By repeating these exact colours in clothing and cosmetics, your attire appears custom-coloured for you. The first impression you create will have the impact of vitality and sophistication like never before. Does Colour Analysis really work? Yes, it really works. Every person. Every outfit. Every colour decision.

What happens at a Colour Analysis session?

12 Blueprints Calibrated Test Drapes

Hi! I’m Naomi. Your Colour Analysis takes place in my studio in Vancouver (CANADA). There’s plenty of room for you to bring a guest to the session. Many clients enjoy the company and the guest often finds the process quite fascinating.

The studio space is specially designed to deliver accurate results. The walls are a neutral colour, so no other colours, except the ones we’re looking at, will have an effect on the skin. In addition to natural light, the draping area is equipped with professional full spectrum lighting (CRI of 98), to ensure colour accuracy.

I’ll be wearing a neutral grey analyst’s coat. I’ll give you a neutral grey cape and head scarf to wear to minimize any colour reactions from your clothing or your hair. In order to see any subtle effects during the session, it’s important that only your natural pigmentation is visible, therefore your face must be completely free of makeup and any skin moisturizer (many moisturizers have reflective qualities).

Before beginning, I’ll briefly explain colour analysis to you. I use the 12 Blueprints calibrated fabric test drapes to determine your colour season. You’ll be seated comfortably in front of a mirror with me standing behind you (wearing a mask) in order for both of us to be able to observe the visual effects of each colour colour drape.

By comparing and contrasting families of test colours placed under your chin and across your shoulders, we’ll observe how your skin reacts to hue (warmth and coolness), value (lightness to darkness range), and chroma (amount of clarity or mutedness). You’ll see that a slight variance in these 3 characteristics will make a big difference.

Hue – Value – Chroma

The effects of each colour on your face will determine which colour season is most compatible with your skin’s undertone. We also take into account how your eyes and hair react to the drapes.

Each of the 12 tones is mutually exclusive, so there is no guesswork. The right colours result in smooth looking skin, a healthy skin colour, colourful eyes, and a saturated lip colour. The wrong colours create shadows, yellowness, redness, pale lips, and dull eyes.

Finding the perfect balance of huevalue, and chroma in your colour harmony will allow you to look your absolute best.

Once we determine where you fall in the 12-Tone system, you’ll receive a high quality canvas colour palette featuring 65 colours representative of your season’s colour harmony.

With your colour palette as a shopping guide, you’ll not only save time and money, you’ll build a wardrobe of functional clothes, in colours that are in perfect harmony with the natural colours found in you.

You will use your palette as a gauge to find the many colours in your seasonal range that may not be on the actual color fan.

We’ll discuss how to use the colour fan to choose clothes, accessories and makeup. For women, we will apply (if desired) the lipstick and blush using colours harmonized to your colour season.

I enjoyed our time well spent together. Many people have commented on how good I look, and that really is just a change in makeup, and wearing some of the True Spring colours that I happen to already own. I also feel lighter and brighter in myself, and this is helping me embrace that side of my personality and style. Thank you again for the effort you made to get me to the right colours for me!
